Q. How many sets do I need?
A. We recommend at least 8 sets:
(2) Yourself – notes, file
(3) General Contractor - legal document, inspection, subcontractors
(2) Local Building Dept.
(1) Mortgage Lender - conventional loan
AVID provides 8 sets with a standard plan package, or 1 reproducible vellum plan set, or 1 set of CAD files. Extra sets are also available for purchase.
Q. Is there anything else I will need to provide for the builder?
A. No, when you purchase plans from AVID, we provide all the structural drawings your builder will need for the construction of your home. Note: Ask us (or have your builder ask us) about our A-Value, A-Access, and A-Energy Plans.
Q. Can I customize any plan?
A. Many of our stock plans may be revised. Simply choose your plan and contact your local AVID Market Manager or call A Vision In Design at 888.280.AVID (2843) for a revision quote. After purchasing your plan, you will be provided with revision documents and instructions on how to redline your plan for customization. Your plan will be revised and promptly delivered.
Q. Are there any limits to design changes that I can make?
A. No, not as long as it is structurally possible to build the plan with the changes you are requesting. For the most part, if you can dream it, we can draw it!
Q. How much will I be charged to make changes?
A. This depends upon the amount of change and the complexity of those changes. AVID is happy to provide a quote once we understand all of the specifics. Please contact your local AVID Market Manager or call our studio at 888.280.AVID (2843) for a specialized quote.
Q. How long will it take to make the changes? A. Our highly experienced designers will put your request on our working board and make the requested changes in the order they are received. AVID strives to service our customers with the fastest and most accurate turn-around time available in the industry.
